So You Want to Host a Mom’s Night
Mom’s Night events can range from a late night out at an upscale lounge to an early evening in lounging at a mom friend’s home.๐ก Check your worries at the door and enter an environment where it is all about you. Laugh as loud as you want–you won’t be waking up a baby. Sound too good to be true? Here are 5 tips to help you make it happen.
1. Timing is everything
For many, the best day to host a Mom’s Night event is Saturday evening.๐ Choose a time that allows moms to leave their home when the sun is still out and return home right around bedtime. (i.e. 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm).
2. Have tasty morsels in plain sight
Cheese cubes, crackers, sliced fruit, warm muffins and chocolate squares are divine offerings. Pair them with a glass of wine and you’ll have the most uptight mama, relaxed in minutes. Indulge without feeling guilty. After all, self-care isn’t selfish.
3. Pick a theme
Whether it’s a spa day, a pajama day or a Secret Santa day, have elements of your theme displayed prominently throughout the room. You can get inexpensive decorations from a Dollar store, print out images from the internet, or re-use seasonal items you already have.
4. Plan 2 activities
Set up 2 activity stations. Once could contain colored pencils and sheets of paper taken from an adult coloring book. Another station could contain all the supplies needed to paint a pumpkin or decorate a holiday ornament. Google ideas and you’ll have more than enough options to choose from.
5. Keep that music flowing๐ถ
Music sets the tone for a great mom’s night out. Choose a playlist that you think many will enjoy. You don’t even have to create your own–select an existing playlist that corresponds nicely with your theme.
However you choose to host your event, the moms that show up are grateful that you planned this. Take photos of your time together and don’t be surprised when mamas start asking you when the next Moms Night event will be taking place.
